NEW: Uniform Reminders

Due to the cold weather, students can wear their official PE hoodie with school logo, over their school jumper and underneath a coat if they wish. Students can also wear an additional layer i.e. a t-shirt or long sleeve top under their school shirt.

Please can you also support your child in wearing a tie when we return after Christmas. These can be purchased from the College Online shop if necessary. We will be introducing new sanctions for students without ties in January. Also, a reminder that nose-studs and nose-rings are not permitted, but students may wear a retainer.

NEW: Covid-19 Infection Rates

As you will already be aware, schools and colleges are no longer involved in the track and trace procedures for Covid 19. However, we do continue to monitor the number of confirmed cases reported to us and liaise closely with Public Health Cornwall to implement appropriate protection measures. As of 9th December, the case rate within the school community was as follows:

Please be reassured that we continue to monitor the situation closely and liaise with Public Health England and Public Health Cornwall regularly. Bodmin College already has enhanced Covid19 protection measures in place - more details of these measures can be found in the FAQs.

NEW: Girls PE Y7&8

All Year 7 and 8 girls will be moving onto cross-country once a fortnight next term. Please can you ensure students come in prepared. They will require:

Essential Items

  • A drink - ideally a sports bottle that they can refill at school
  • Appropriate PE trainers (no hi-tops/school shoes/vans). Trainers will get wet and muddy so it is imperative that these are different to what students wear to school.
  • Spare socks/underwear

  • A long sleeve mid layer (highly recommended). These can be purchased from the school website. Alternatively students can wear under skins / an under-layer underneath their PE tops, but these must be plain black.
  • Items can be purchased via the school website from Wovina, where you can select what items you require: Bodmin College – WOVINA
  • A towel

Hoodies and own coats will not be allowed.

Thank you from PE Department
