NEW: Vaccination for 12-15 year olds
Whilst there have been reports in the press this week that agreement has been reached within government that the Covid vaccination programme will be extended to 12-15 year olds, we have yet to see what precise role there will be for schools and colleges in this process. We await further information from the Government about how the vaccination programme will run. As always, we will act in the best interests of the children and young people in our care and work with parents to minimise any risk to our children. We will provide an update to our parents when more information is available.
Please see current government information for young people here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccination-resources-for-children-and-young-people
NEW: Student home-testing kits
This week, students have been issued with lateral flow test kits to be used at home. If your child has not received their tests, they should see Mr Morris in his office (next to the Sports Hall/ opposite PE office) at break or lunchtime to collect their kits. We encourage all students to self-test twice weekly (Sundays/Wednesdays) and to report the results in two ways:
2. Bodmin College: PARENT/STUDENT Covid19 Home Self-Test Result Reporting
To inform us of a positive test result, contact us on 01208 72114

NEW: PE update
For Core PE, please be aware that all jewellery needs to be removed to ensure the safety of all taking part. This includes all nose studs (including clear retainers). Students are allowed to use tape to cover one set of newly pierced ears. This must be provided by the student and kept in their bags. Students will not be allowed to visit first aid to ask for tape before or during lesson time. It is the student's responsibility to organise this. In relation to new piercings, we please ask that we are provided with information about the date of piercing and when it is safe to remove. Thank you in advance for your support in this matter.
For Year 8 -11 Core PE, the PE Department still have a range of the Agame rugby tops and T shirts for sale at a cost of £5, available from the PE office. Alternatively if you require new core PE kit, you can purchase the new style top from Wovina.
NEW: Medical Appointments
If your child has a medical appointment and needs to leave in school hours, please could parent/carer write a note for your child to bring in and show their tutor to arrange an exeat. If it’s a last minute appointment, please phone college and speak to the Attendance Officer by choosing option 2.
NEW: Girls' Tennis Sessions at Bodmin Leisure Centre

The sessions will be delivered by a LTA Accredited Female coach. These take place on Thursdays from 4pm – 5pm. £6.50 per session (see here).
NEW: Lostwithiel Educational Trust - grants for young people
The above Trust exists to benefit children and young people up to the age of 24 years old who live in the parishes of Lostwithiel and St Winnow. Each application is discussed by the Trustees as to whether it falls within their remit and a decision is made at their quarterly meetings. Applications may be made at any time during the year by, or on behalf of, the young person, but for your information the next meeting is in October 2021.
Application for grants should be made either by email to:- The Secretary Educational Trust, firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail, marked for the attention of Lostwithiel Educational Trust c/o Church Administration Office, St Bartholomew’s Church, Church Lane, Lostwithiel, PL22 0EG.
