A big thank you to all parents and carers for your ongoing support of the school this half term. We would like to wish you all a restful half term week, including the two Jubilee Bank Holidays, and take this opportunity to publicly congratulate Her Majesty, the Queen, for 70 years on the throne.

NEW: Exams

We'd like to say a huge well done to all of our students in Years 10 - 13 who have been sitting formal exams in the past few weeks. Your conduct and focus has been exemplary and we are exceptionally proud of you all. Obviously, there are still more exams to come after half term for many of you, but please use the time next week sensibly, to eat and sleep well, and to balance your revision with time to relax and recuperate. Remember that there are a range of revision resources and practice materials available for you to access on Satchel One.

REMINDER: Expansion Proposal

The full Expansion Proposal consultation document is now on our website. Please share your views and/or support for the expansion proposal. Consultation closes 4pm Monday 20th June 2022. NEW: Aspirations Opportunity of the Week

Wolferstans Solicitors are currently offering students in Years 10-13 work experience opportunities. If any students are interested in applying, they can do so via the link below. The applications are now live on their website. Wolferstans are also sharing details about the work experience opportunities that they offer and some behind the scenes stories and insights on what it's like being a lawyer on their social media platforms. NEW: Brighton University Y12 Free Summer School

On-campus residential summer schools offer you the chance to try out what it's like studying at university. You will get a chance to explore varied sessions during the day to give you a taste of different courses, social activities in the evening, and overnight stays in our halls of residence – all supported by our undergraduate students.

Brighton University are offering places in the following subjects: Humanities, Social Sciences, Applied Sciences and Engineering, health Professionals & Sport. Deadline to apply is 31st May.

REMINDER: Period Positivity

Please remind students that free period products are available to all students who menstruate. These are available from first aid, reception and HOYs. Packs for the holidays can also be found in reception.

NEW: Year 10 Brightside Mentoring Project

Please see this letter on the Falmouth University and Brightside Online Mentoring Project. This is an online mentoring project connecting Year 10 students with trained mentors. The project aims to help young people get access to the information and guidance they need to find out more about post 16 and post 18 options. Please encourage your child to sign up if they haven't already.

NEW: Volunteering Opportunities

The Merlin MS Centre, a charity which supports people living with long-term neurological conditions, as well as young people with neuro-diversities, are currently doing a bit of volunteer recruitment for the charity. Please see this poster.
