Weekly Parent Bulletin

Friday 15th July 2022

With mindfulness of the forecast for high temperatures over the weekend and at the start of next week, we want to reassure parents that measures are in place and adjustments are being made to planned activities, in order to ensure students' well-being during the hot weather.

Please can we ask parents to ensure that students attend school with a refillable water bottle - we will be encouraging students to keep hydrated and to take opportunities at break and lunchtime to refill bottles.

Students will not be expected to wear ties and may undo their top shirt buttons. Skirts (of an appropriate length) and tailored shorts are already part of school uniform and we would encourage students to wear them if they have them.

Classrooms will be well-ventilated and students will be encouraged to seek shade at break and lunchtimes.

Planned outdoor activities have been reviewed, risk-assessed and, where appropriate, adjusted, in keeping with County guidelines. Adjustments may include reducing strenuous physical activity whilst in the sun and increasing opportunities to be in shaded areas. If your child is involved in an outdoor event such as the Year 7 activity days or Year 8/9 Sports Day, please ensure they have suncream, a sun hat and plenty of water.
