Dear Parents and Carers

I am writing to introduce myself as the new Principal of Bodmin College Campus from January 2024. I have experience of working in two large Cornish secondary schools, latterly as Headteacher of Newquay Tretherras, which is also proud to be part of Cornwall Education Learning Trust. I will be responsible for the wider college campus, including the development of the ARB, the review of provision post-16 as we form a joint CELT Sixth Form and the completion of an application to open a vocational University Technical College for mid Cornwall, based in Bodmin. The CELT Virtual Hub provision for children unable to attend school full-time, led by Mr. Andy Egford, will also be based on the Bodmin College campus. I have enjoyed meeting some parents already and I look forward to working in close partnership with the Bodmin community going forwards.

Following a rigorous interview process last week, I am delighted to inform you that Miss Claire White has been appointed as the permanent Head of School for Bodmin College's main 11-16 provision from January 2024. Miss White will be your main point of contact as parents and carers for the pupils in the main school. Miss White joins Bodmin College from Poltair School in St Austell, where she has been an experienced Deputy Headteacher for many years.

Miss White will be supported by Miss Kym O'Mara, who joined the college as a CELT Deputy Headteacher in November. Miss O'Mara has lots of experience of technical and vocational college courses, both pre- and post-16, and previously worked at St Austell College.

From January, we will be joined by Miss Anna Mills as a CELT Trust Deputy Headteacher for two terms. Miss Mills is an experienced Deputy Headteacher with experience of working in large Devon schools.

I am sure you will join me in welcoming Miss White, Miss O'Mara and Miss Mills to the leadership team of Bodmin College.
